Welcome!

"What lies before us and what lies behind us are small matters compared to what lies within us. And when you bring what is within out into the world, miracles happen." -- Henry David Thoreau.

I've been on a health and healing journey for a couple years now. Change isn't easy but it is important.

Learning to love myself I feel has been the hardest part. I always felt "not good enough", turning that mind set around wasn't easy and I still struggle with it. But I do know since realizing I am in control of my own happiness I have been a lot happier.

I am spending more time with family, I am putting myself out there and trying new things. I got my physical health back on track and am learning that loving myself was the first step I needed to take.

I look forward to learning more about integral health and implementing what we learn in class to my everyday life.

The Mind-Body Connection

1.           Based on your reflections, and on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being optimal wellbeing), where do you rate your A-physical wellbeing, B-spiritual well-being, C-psychological well-being? Why?

A.    I would rate my physical well-being at a 8 or 9 I exercise but not regularly (a couple time a week) and I eat healthy for the most part.

B.    I would rate my spiritual well-being at about a 5 or a 6. It’s something I have been working on.

C.   My psychological well-being would be 5. That is something I am also working on. I suffer from depression and have a hard time letting things go. I have been learning new ways to handle my depression and try and always look at the bright side of life.

2.           Develop a goal for yourself in each area (physical, spiritual, psychological).

A.    My physical goal is to be more active throughout the week, maybe not exercise per say but go for walks and just enjoy being active.

B.    My spiritual goal is to put down my phone and other electronic equipment and to spend more time with family and friends.

C.   My psychological goal is to learn new relaxation techniques and to always wake up with positive thoughts.

3.           What activities or exercise can you implement in your life to assist in moving toward each goal?

Things I can do are take family walks along with reflection walks. Both can help me in all aspects. I need to organize my time better, becoming more organized can help my psychological wellbeing as I won’t feel as flustered or stressed.
